Captain George Martin was on the barque Saracen when it was wrecked on the coast of Chile, 31 March 1828 - Scope and ContentPapers include a diary of Mrs Mary Martin, as told to and written by her husband, George Martin, of a voyage on the barque Saracen, 3 Feb.-7 Apr. 1828, wrecked on the coast of Chile. Includes copies of certificates and the last will and testament of Mary Martin. Also includes plans of a land grant of 800 acres to William Martin next to that of Charles Jeffreys in Pittwater near Hobart Town, Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) and a letter from George Martin to his wife from Hobart Town, 29 Oct. 1836
