  • Scope and Content
    This medal was awarded to Miles Franklin’s nephew (son of Norman and Irene Franklin), Norman John Franklin for his service with the Royal Australian Air Force (see documents from The Commonwealth. Dept. of Air, Melbourne, S.G.I regarding campaign stars. MLMSS 139/113X, no. 223, 225).

    Obverse: the Royal and Imperial cypher in the centre, surmounted by a crown. Cypher is surrounded by a circlet bearing the name of the star. Legend: The 1939-1945 Star. Reverse: blank
