- Scope and ContentThis anonomyous journal, kept on the voyage from London to Sydney in 1820, then to Valparaíso and the return voyage to Sydney, which was reached for the second time on the 2nd June 1821. The Sydney Gazette of Sept. 16 1820, gives the list of passengers arrived by the Surry and a volume of ships musters lists the crew of the Surry on her departure in Dec. 1820 for Valparaíso. The only name to appear in both lists is that of Edward Dobson, age 20. Later evidence is that the journal was written by W.L. Edwardson.
