John Roberts was born 13 November 1829 in Bexhill, Sussex, England, and died 19 February 1913 in Richmond, Surry, U.K.
He arrived in Australia aboard the "Amstel", Captain Rademaker, on 18 April 1854. Married Harriett Croaker, 9 February 1859 in Holy Trinity Church, Sydney. - Scope and ContentIncludes original logbook, transcript and copies of photographs of John Roberts ca. 1859.
1. Original logbook consists of 6 sheets folded to 24 pages. 21 pages of handwriting and 3 pages blank. 23 December 1853-18 April 1854.
2. Foolscap envelope inscribed 'papers relative to the genealogy of my family'.
