ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Francis Henry Smith, a telegraphist of Marburg, Queensland, enlisted aged 23, 13 Oct. 1914 and embarked from Brisbane on board HMAT A30 Borda, 15 Dec. 1914. He served in the 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance attached to the Australian Casualty Clearing Station in Palestine during final operations against the Turks. He returned to Australia on the Port Darwin, 15 Nov. 1918
