    Stuart Alexander Caird Campbell was chief pilot of Douglas Mawson's expeditions to Antarctica, 1929-31. In the 1920s and 1930s he did important aerial survey work in Papua New Guinea and served in the RAAF during World War 2.

    Stuart Campbell's reminiscences of early aviation in New Guinea, 1927-1936, with photographs by him (and W. Korn) particularly of the Fly River area. Each photograph is accompanied by a detailed caption.
