  • Scope and Content
    Inscribed with the following text: 'This horn belonged to Traveller who was calved at Cow Pastures 1819 worked for 12 years at Norfolk Island for Government. Here he was killed by two bushrangers who absconded for purposes of making a boat with his hide to escape from the island on 23rd day of Decr. 1838 - Bennett and Balsto'

    The horn also features engravings of sailing ships above which are inscribed 'Victory' and 'Chasing and Smuggler'. Other decorations include Australian flora, an elephant, a canoe, fish, a kangaroo and emu, and a British coat of arms with the motto 'Dieu et Mon droit'
