Tom Yeomans arrived in New Guinea ca. 1927. His activities included mining exploration and development of leases in the Bulolo, Sepik, Kukukuku and Upper Ramu areas and he constructed the airstrip at Bulolo in 1930. He later returned to Sydney and died in 1970. - Scope and ContentDiary describes exploration and gold prospecting in the interior of New Guinea, with descriptions of the countryside, accounts of attacks by natives on Yeoman's camps and expeditions, and skirmishes between New Guinean Kanakas.
