James West was born 13 February, 1954 in Peak Hill, New South Wales.
'Big' Jim West won the Flyweight Championships of Australia and the Commonwealth then jumped a few divisions to win the Junior-Lightweight Title. He was a fighter with no reverse gear, continually moving forward punching all the time.
