  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frank Bungardy, a German born resident of Australia for over ten years with an Australian wife and two children, was an internee at Torrens Island from 3 Jan. 1915 and later at Holsworthy Internment Camp until ca. 1919. While being transferred from Torrens Island to Holsworthy Camp in 1915 he escaped and was recaptured.
    Friedrich Meier, a 4th mate or 4th engineer on the steamship Lothringen was detained when the ship embarked in Melbourne, Aug. 1914 and later interned in Langwarrin, Liverpool and Trial Bay camps.
