Frank Bungardy, a German born resident of Australia for over ten years with an Australian wife and two children, was an internee at Torrens Island from 3 Jan. 1915 and later at Holsworthy Internment Camp until ca. 1919. While being transferred from Torrens Island to Holsworthy Camp in 1915 he escaped and was recaptured.
Friedrich Meier, a 4th mate or 4th engineer on the steamship Lothringen was detained when the ship embarked in Melbourne, Aug. 1914 and later interned in Langwarrin, Liverpool and Trial Bay camps.

Includes notes, diaries and correspondence, mostly written in German, from camps including Trial Bay Camp in northern New South Wales, Holsworthy Camp near Liverpool, New South Wales, and Ragama Camp in Ceylon.
