Irene Sharpham (nee Tirbutt) performed as a soprano in Sydney as well as London and Wellington, New Zealand. In later years she became a freelance journalist and executive director of the University of New England Union and president of the Armidale branch of the Liberal Party.She died in 2006.

This collection, belonging to Irene Sharpham (nee Tirbutt) consists of family photographs and papers of her parents Jean (nee Duthie) and Albert Lyons Tirbutt as well as photographs of Irene's performances.
