St Laurence House was established by the parishes of Christ Church St Laurence and St James, King Street in 1978 as a charitable drop-in centre for disadvantaged youth. It later expanded its services to provide accommodation, support, life skills education and care for homeless young people through a medium to long term residential refuge in Kingsford and two semi-independent houses in Mascot. Saint Laurence House became an incorporated association in 1988.
