Jane Bennett is a Sydney artist whose work focuses on the industrial side of Sydney, especially the Harbour foreshore and Harbour islands. She documents the disappearance or transformation of much of Sydney's industrial landscape.
She has won over 80 prizes including the 1990, 1995 and 1996 Pring Prize. She has also been a finalist in the 1986, 1997 and 2008 Sulman Prize; 5 times finalist in the Wynne Prize (winning the 1995 Trustees prize for watercolour) and 6 times finalist in the Dobell Prize. - Scope and ContentThis work depicts St. Augustine's Church, Balmain as well as part of the industrial foreshore of White Bay.
