    Stan Hayne, a clerk of Mosman, Sydney was born in Muswellbrook, New South Wales and enlisted at the age of 23 on 4 Sept. 1915. He embarked from Australia on HMAT A34 Persic, 18 Nov. 1915 and served in the 4th Australian Division, Transport Company in Egypt 1915-1916, France and Belgium 1916-1918 and England Oct. 1918-Mar. 1919. He was promoted to sergeant and discharged in Sydney 21 Aug. 1919 after returning to Australia on the Port Melbourne
