    George Thomasson Gill, photographer of Rockhampton, Queensland enlisted aged 29 years, 29 July 1915 and embarked from Sydney, NSW on board HMAT A14 Euripides, 2 Nov. 1915. He served with the 6th, 17th and 55th battalions in northern France and Belgium from June 1916-Sept. 1918. He was commended for gallant action in June 1917, wounded in action 1 Sept. 1918 and invalided to England. He returned to Australia on the Takada 11 Feb. 1919 and was discharged 2 May 1919
