    Album, covers approx. 14.5 x 23 cm. with scroll decoration on front; flyleaf has inscription ”Mr J Waterhouse, Weroona, Woodford Jan 1915”; contains b/w photos with white handwritten captions; subjects include scenes of mission life, including Davuilevu (dated after Australian Museum images of Davuilevu), girls at Matavelo school in Nailaga, Mr (JHL)Waterhouse’s school at Niusawa; group portraits of Papuan Synod and Dilkusha Indian Mission. With approx. 20 loose photographs at back of album with pencil captions on backs, including group portraits, and one with JHL Waterhouse and school boys, some named; JHL’s bure (house) under construction; Rev. and Mrs Poole, Howard and Athol (possibly GA Waterhouse); mission house Musawa 1913-14; other houses and named individuals; series of Fijian wedding group images, Rev. Taniela Lotu; view of church buildings at Somosomo, William Cross Memorial church; postcard greetings from Vunela to all at Weroona and one to Mrs G J Waterhouse, Woodford; group portraits of girls and boys, Yams being presented with JHL 1910-1911; boys at Niusawa 1912-1914; group portrait JHL with boys “Mr Waterhouse’ School at Niusawa”.

    Album, covers approx. 21.5 x 29 cm., grey pages with black embossed card covers torn off and loose; b/w prints with black written captions; inscription on front page reads ”Photos JHL c.1912”; many photos are missing, but these are probably the loose ones found in another smaller album, as they are captioned alike with this album. Subject is Niusawa school; includes portraits of JHL, scenes of Taveuni, with war trenches; view from Mrs Hawke’s verandah at Niulela; islet of Korolevu, near Niusawa, Somosomo straits; village officials, policeman magistrate. With loose photos at back of album including WW1 group portrait; Cornell University agricultural college, New York USA; portraits of family and friends; Sydney University pamphlet of 3 portraits of Sydney Uni Professors; Niusawa mission; Davuilevu schoolchildren and dispensary; miscellaneous Fijian images, including an official group portrait, colonial building, portraits of JHL in Fiji, set of 4 images of a Fijian funeral procession with captions; gouache painting on paper of unidentified view, unsigned.

    Album, pale blue covers approx. 19.5 x 26 cm.; b/w photos, including some loose with captions written on back and dated between 1923-1931; ship portraits; some Burns Philp ships, including wreck of Mindini; similar photos to JHL Solomons album in Aust Mus; some dated early 1930’s; group portraits, canoes and coastal scenes; includes photos by various people; photo of AH Voyce’s house, photo by Metcalfe of JHL at Siwai (JHL possibly visited AH Voyce at Tonu?); Roviana images, 1924; students at Kokegolo Mission, Roviana; group portraits, etc.
