    The property on which the old convict quarters were erected was granted to Wm.[i.e. William] Cox after making the road over the Blue Mts [i.e. Mountains] to Bathurst. It remained in the Cox family till 1550, when it was bought by M. James. Rutherford who built his home on the hill lived there till his death in 1911. The estate was subdivided and the house and 100 acres is now the Marsden Girls Grammar School. G.W. Rutherford now of Nyrand, Cheeseman's Creek. 10.7.40.
