    Copy of letters from Surveyor-General to Ryrie, December 2, 1839 giving him instructions for the survey between Moruya and Western Port which he was to undertake as an amateur, and during which these sketches were made, and from Surveyor-General to the Colonial Secretary, October 7, 1841, regarding his remuneration are located at Ar 24 (CY Reel 3276, frames 44-59)
  • Attributions / conjectures

    Ryrie was not listed in Surveyor General's Department for 1844-1852. There was an entry for a Stewart Ryrie Jnr. of Coolringdon, Maneroo in Ford's Directory 1851 in list of magistrates. Also listed in N.S.W. Almanac of 1848

    The paper bears the watermark dates 1814 and 1835
