The artist of this picture, painted in 1937, is a young pupil of Julian Ashton who regards him as the cleverest student he has had for many years. Unfortunately he works in a paper factory and gets very little time to pursue his art studies. Mr Ifould admired this drawing in Mr Ashton's studio and Mr Spencer then gave it to him.
