    Kenneth Dudley Hastings, surveyor and photographer, first started photography in 1938, as an amateur. He joined the Camera Club of Sydney about 1950 and was in B grade for a while, before moving up to A grade after winning several competitions, where he continued to do the same.
    He had works published in APR Kodak Magazine, (Walter & Keast Burke, editors.)
    Meetings of Camera Club of Sydney were held at History House and then at Scots Church Building, Margaret Street. Hastings was invited to join the “Camera Circle” after submitting work for judgement.
    He was encouraged in this by Laurence Le Guay. Several of his works were submitted and published in Contemporary Photography and other publications. He submitted work to several exhibitions, local and overseas.

    Ken Hastings became a Judge of Photography and visited several Clubs for some years.

    1969 He retired from judging when he retired from Metropolitan Water Board, Sydney where he had risen from Survey Draughtsman to Chief Surveyor 1936 to 1969.
    Ken was also a Member of the Photographic Panel for the National Trust and worked for them e.g. “Everglades” at Leura and other projects, to which they had sole rights of negatives and prints.
    In recent years he joined the Warringah Camera Club, winning places in several Competitions.

    1986 Brookvale Show 3rd place Black & White.
    1986 1st place in Northern Zones “Top Shot” - Nature Prints received Trophy & 3 books

    He was a regular contributor in Brookvale Show, winning ribbons, etc.
