The title is inscribed below the image, with the reference 'Gould Birds of Austral. XXIV.1'.
'3/4 = 18" par. ala 1' and a 7"6"' ' is inscribed on the left hand side of the page. The plate referred to, John Gould, 'Birds of Australia', London, 1846. Part 24, [plate 1], which illustrates the same bird, may have been the original on which the Reichenbach sketch is based.

The work is neither signed or dated. Attributed to Reichenbach after comparison with his 'Dromaius Novae Hollandiae' at SV*/Bird Aus/12; also attributed to Reicehnbach in Joseph Brown, 'Catalogue', Autumn 1978

Approximately dated in relation to Reicehnbach's 'Die Vollstandigeste Naturgeschichte der Vogel des In-und Auslanders', Dresden and Leipzig, 1845-1850, which includes an entry (462) on Calyptorhynchus Baudinii.
