  When received 508 of the negatives (Boxes 1-43) were numbered in one sequence, with each individual number followed by a capital letter indicating the district.
  
  The original manuscript index for this sequence is available at PXA 38.
  
  The remaining negatives were unnumbered (Boxes 44- 65). Numbering was continued by the Mitchell Library but no attempt was made to add a district code.
  
  The collection also included a small amount of nitrate negatives which were destroyed after copying in 1975. The copies are located at NCY 1 / 299-309 (Available on open access in the Mitchell Library Reading Room)
