  Titled on back in pencil with this inscription 'Given by Captain Cook the Circumnavigator to Robert Laurie, who invented the art of Printing in Oil Colours, of which this plate was the first specimen, and he received from the Society of Arts in The Adelphi a premium and a medal for the same'.
  
  There are further manuscript notes in a different hand on the back, and also signature 'A.W.F. Fuller 16 November 1936'.
  
  On a seperate sheet in ink is a copy of the inscription, and in pencil further manuscript notes on the Lauries. This sheet is filed, with notes by P. Mander Jones in 1960, at PXn122.
