There are no images on odd numbered pages, except for P. 1, 13, 17.

Five of the sketches are signed, one is dated, and twenty-two are titled. Included in the collection is a coloured lithograph by C. Turner. A slip of paper is pasted to the fly leaf of the volume, on which is written in unknown hand the following title 'Mounted in Book. Collection of 27 watercolour sketches of early Melbourne and surrounding scenery, including five pencil drawing of Post Office and Melbourne University, from 1856'.
