    C. Roper was a sketcher and engraver, thought originally to be the same person as Edward Roper, but this is now known to be incorrect. Roper contributed illustrations to publications including the Illustrated Sydney News, the short-lived Sydney Punch and the Illustrated Melbourne Post.
