    In pencil lower right 'This Brig (and other ships) went from Burmah to the relief of, and rescue of all aboard the colonial built ship 'Briton' which left Port Jackson with 400 of the 80th Infantry Regt. for Calcutta, but the ship was thrown upon one of the largest of the Andaman Islands on the 11th Nov. 1844 in a hurricane - and the ship Runnymede from the Downs? bound for Calcutta with recruits from Chatham for the 50th Regt. was throuwn upon the same Island on the same day by the same hurricane'.
