  • Scope and Content
    The collection includes photographs by Paul C. Poulsen, Maryborough; Freeman & Co. Ltd, Sydney and Speer Studio, Bowral. Some photographs are of original sketches, including one by Agar. Dated approximately by apparent age of Margaret Morehead (later Goff, no's 1 & 2) and period Freeman & Co. Ltd. occupied their 318 George St. Sydney address, see Davies, Alan and Stanbury, Peter, 'The Mechanical eye in Australia', Melbourne : Oxford University Press, 1985. Most of the photographs are identified by the collector.

    Also included in this collection are photographs of P.L Travers' parents, Margaret and Travers Robert Goff ; her sister, Moya ; her adopted son Camillus ; her friend AE (George William Russell ; childhood and publicity photographs of P.L. Travers ; the Goff family home in Maryborough, Qld. ; The Pound Cottage, Sussex where Travers wrote 'Mary Poppins' ; a souvenir album of P.L. Travers' period as a writer in residence at Whitman Hall, Radcliffe College, Harvard University, 1965-66 ; a souvenir album of her period as writer in residence at Smith College, 1966 and a hand-coloured lithograph of a caricature of W.B. Yeats and AE by Mac. Also included are colour stills from the 1964 film, 'Mary Poppins', starring Julie Andrews ; transparencies of two roses named in honour of 'Mary Poppins' and Pamela Travers' ' and mantle piece ornaments referred to in the chapter titled 'The faithful friends' in Travers, Pamela Lyndon.
