    Thomas Martin Sloman (1811-1902) arrived in Australia in 1833 aged 22. He was involved in a number of business ventures before becoming manager of the Savings Bank of New South Wales at Bathurst in 1872. He married Amelia ('Amy') Henning in 1855.
  • Scope and Content
    Part of diary of the voyage from London to Sydney in the ship Ann, May - July 1833, with a description of Rio de Janeiro. Includes details of all Sloman's voyages and biographical information written in 1978 by Margaret W. Whiting, grand daughter of T.M. Sloman. MLMSS 3531/1.

    Diary describing voyages between Sydney and London, 1845-1852, with financial accounts, 1836-1844. Comprises voyage from Sydney to London in the Sir Robert Peel, 16 Mar. - 18 June 1845; voyage from London to Sydney in the Soubahdar, 2 Nov. 1846 - 10 Feb. 1847; voyage from Sydney to London in the barque Tasmania, 15 Jan. - 15 May 1851; voyage from Plymouth to Sydney in the Royal Stuart, 30 Oct. 1851 - 3 Feb. 1852.
