    f.4 Barrawangs. Unsigned. Dated ‘April 13’. Titled on mount in Sir William Dixson’s (?) hand.
    f.5 Sydney from St. Leonards. Unsigned. Dated ‘Oct 5/42-‘ follows title at lower right.
    f.6 General Stewarts Farm Mout Pleasant [sic]. Unsigned. Undated. Titled at lower right in Rebecca Martens’ (?) hand. A note on mount beneath title in Sir William Dixson’s hand (?) reads ‘?R.Martens’ and a further note in same hand in lower left corner reads, ‘Bathurst’.

This indicates that the painting is probably a copy by Martens of an original by Thomas Girtin. A note, also in Sir William Dixson’s (?) hand on mount at lower left reads, ‘Devonshire’.

    f.12 Near Blackheath, Bathurst Road. Unsigned. Dated ‘May 25/35’ follows title at lower right.
    f.13 Mr. Campbell’s wharf. Unsigned. Undated. Titled on mount at lower left in Sir William Dixson’s (?) hand.
    f.14 Wreck of the Edward Lombe. Unsigned. Undated. Titled at lower left in Sir William Dixson’s (?) hand followed by a note in the same hand reading, “The Edward Lombe was wrecked on August 25, 1834. Martens did not arrive here until April 1835?, is it the Dunbar wrecked on S.Head ‘Aug 20, 1857’. The hull was washed into Middle Harbour”.
