It was commissioned by Alexander Oliver, a Sydney Lawyer, public servant and President of the Land Appeal Court, who acquired Coochin Coochin in the 1860’s. The following are earlier commissions of Coochin Coochin: 31 May 1853 1Coochin Run’ – oil 26 x 18[inches]. O[ctavius] Brown[e] Esq. ₤15.15.0. sold to M. Metcalf Esq’; 19 Nov. 1853 `Run at `Coochin’.
