  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Stephen Ernest Gibbon was born in 1891, son of Charles and Agnes (?) He was a builder by trade but wanted to go to Antarctica for the adventure. He was surprised his application to the Australasian Antarctic Expedition was accepted and he was appointed steward of the Aurora (? – see PXB 451/4 & 24). He married Linda G. Crouch in 1915 and died 31 Mar 1970.
