This series of photographs of the shooting death of Frenchman Roni Levi on Bondi Beach in 1997 created a scandal that resulted in a Police Integrity Commission inquiry, the resignation of two police and legislation that changed the way police dealt with mentally ill people. Police involved in critical incidents would also be drug-tested in future. Bratanoff-Firgoff's photographs were crucial evidence at the inquiry and contradicted police claims that they were threatened by Levi "lunging" at them -- ML file note
