    1. Plate 1 (frontispiece). Proof of the lithograph, inscribed in pencil by Mitchell `Flood coming down by moonlight after drought'. In l.l.h. corner 'Sir T.L.M. del R Carrick, litho.' In l.r.h. corner 'Day & Son Lith to the Queen'. Titled, beneath view `Flood coming down the Macquarie'. 6 3/4" x 4 1/4" on Sheet-- 8 3/4" x 5 1/2"

    2. Map 1 at page 1 The Indian Archipelago. Early unfinished proof. 7 3/4" x 4 3/8" on sheet 8 1/2" x 6 3/8" one end of a folded sheet. Transferred to Mitchell Library Map Collection Maps/0053

    3. Vignette at p.17. Original pencil sketch inscribed by Mitchell `Bultje, 23rd December 1845'. 7 1/8" and 4 1/8".

    4. Vignette at p.30. 'Remnant of the Bogan Tribe'. Original pen and ink sketch. 6 1/4" x 4".

    5. Map 2, p.43. The Rivers Bogan & Macquarie. Early pencil version inscribed `I beg Mr. Larmer will make a copy of this - and let me have it with this. T.L.M.' 16" x 12 3/4". Transferred to Mitchell Library Map Collection Maps/0049

    These original drawings and proofs are illustrations and maps which where published in `Journal of an expedition into the interior of tropical Australia, in search of a route from Sydney to the Gulf of Carpentaria / by Sir T.L. Mitchell. London : Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, 1848' (N919.4/2A; ML C779)

    The three manuscript maps (No.2. [Map of Australia and South-East Asia]; No.5 [Map of Bogan River and Macquarie River]; No.6 [Hand drawn map of Bogan River and Macquarie River]), previously located at Maps Drawer B2, have been transferred to computer for the Mitchell Map Collection.
