  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Romanian-born of Greek parents, Antigone Kefala has lived in Australia since 1980. She has worked as an arts administrator, a teacher of English as a second language and is a prominent commentator on Australian multicultural writing. Since 1973 she has published six books of poetry and several novels. She is widely represented in Australian anthologies.
  • Scope and Content
    The collection includes correspondence, being mainly letters received, with Patrick White, Manoly Lascaris, Judith Wright, John Blight, Margaret Diesendorf, Rosemary Dobson, Alec Bolton, Nikos Kypraios, Elizabeth Harrower, Chitra Fernando, Dimitris Tsaloumas, Vaso Kalamaros, Leonidas Kalamaras and Patricia Kennedy; travel notebooks, 1975-2003, describing and commenting on Kefala's journeys to Europe mainly to attend writers' conferences and festivals; and 3 DVDs of Kefala's readings and interviews, 1982-1989
