  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Born in Sweden, arrived in Brisbane in 1884. He became an Associate in the firm of Hutchison, Fristrom and Company (Elite Photographic Company) and a foundation member of the Qld Art Society, 1887. He helped form the New Society of Art in 1904 and became its first president. He is best known for his portraits of Aborigines.
