    "The partnership of Macdonald, Hamilton & Co. was founded in 1915 at the behest of James Mackay, 1st Baron Inchcape as a shipping management agency to manage his Australian company, Australasian United Steam Navigation Company (AUSN), which played a major part in Australian shipping circles. Macdonald, Hamilton and Co was the forerunner of P&O Australia, becoming Owners Managing Agents for Australasian United Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co., British India Steam Navigation Co., and Eastern & Australian Line all of which were either owned or controlled by Lord Inchcape" -- Abstract, p.2
