Sir Charles Augustus FitzRoy (1796-1858), born in England on the 10th June 1796, was the tenth governor of New South Wales. In Feb. 1846, the area north of the 26th degree of latitude was declared the North Australia Colony. This warrant returned the area to the control of New South Wales. - Scope and ContentDocument on parchment, endorsed 'by writ of Privy Seal', with attached wax impression of Great Seal of Queen Victoria in cylindrical tin container.
