Dennis Connor was sentenced to life imprisonment in Exeter in 1788. His sentence was later reduced and he received a grant of land at York Place in 1796. Two years later he married Mary Anne Hill, another convict. Connor's farm included the present Blair Park and Acton Street, Burwood, and extended to Parramatta Road. -- Source: Burwood Council local history website. - Scope and Content1 Aug. 1796; Deed of grant of thirty acres of land to Dennis Connor, to be known as Connor's Farm, situated on the south side of Parramatta Road in the district of York Place; authorized and signed by John Hunter, Governor of New South Wales; witnessed by John Piper and Charles Grimes

9 Nov. 1842; Record on back of grant: acknowledgement of payment of quit rent, signed by Campbell Duncan Riddell, Colonial Treasurer
