    Comprises 24 watercolours, 4 pencil, 6 wash and 4 ink sketches, 1 engraving, 1 photoprint in 2 portfolios measuring 56.5 x 39.5 cm.

    1. Poitee. Chief of Huaheine, 1802. Watercolour. Signed `I.W. Lewin' at lower right in pencil. Titled `Poitee' at lower left in pencil. On reverse `Chief of Huaheine' in pencil and `No.1' in ink.
    2. O.too the present Sovreign of Otaheite, 1802. Watercolour. Signed `I.W. Lewin' at lower right in pencil. Titled `O.too' at lower left in pencil. On reverse `The present Sovreign of Otaheite Son of Pomare[?] & is now called by that Name' in pencil.
    3. Oteah, 1802. Watercolour. Signed `I.W. Lewin' at lower right in pencil. Titled `Oteah' at lower left in pencil. On reverse `No.3' in ink and `Cicisbeo of Ideah' in pencil.
    4. Ti.po.taa. Brother of Otoo, 1802. Watercolour. Signed 'I.W. Lewin' at lower right, in pencil. Titled `Ti.po.taa' at lower left in pencil. On reverse `No.4' in ink and `Brother of Otoo' in pencil.
    5. I.deah, 1802. Watercolour. Signed and dated 'J.W. Lewin, 1802' at lower right. Titled at lower left in pencil. On reverse `Mother of the present wife of the late King of Otaheite'.
    6. Cascade Bay - Norfolk Island, about 1793. Ink and grey wash. Unsigned. Titled and dated in ink at lower right.
    7. `View of the Town of Sydney on Norfolk Island' / `P.P. King - 1804'. Watercolour.
    Signed and dated at lower left. Titled at upper centre ; `from the drawing of W. N. Chapman' at lower right.
    8. Castle Hill, 1806? Watercolour. Unsigned and Undated. Date from copy of drawing (f.9). Titled on mount at lower right. Note on reverse states Mr. J. Jervis' opinion of the pictorial accuracy of the drawing.
    9. Government Agricultural Establishment Castle Hill, 1806. Watercolour. Unsigned. Dated and titled on reverse in pencil and ink. Additional note on reverse `now call Dural 1875' in ink.
    10. 2 Birds shot at Endeavour River July 1820 - Drawn the size of life by Phillip P. King. Watercolour. Signed, dated and titled at upper right in ink. On old mount in unknown hand `This bird builds in holes in the Banks of Creeks. I have seen them in Goonoo Boonoo Crek 1847'.
    11(a). Mount Pitt bird. Watercolour. Unsigned, undated, titled on reverse in pencil.
    11(b). [Unidentified bird, possibly an owl]. Watercolour.
    12. Mutton Bird of Norfolk Isd. on which the population lived for months. 1789. Watercolour. Unsigned, undated. Titled at lower right in pencil. At lower left `Petrels. These birds came to Norfolk Island to lay eggs on Mount Pitt their presence saved the people from famine' in pencil.
    13. Parrot fish, possibly by Thomas Watling, 1793-4. Watercolour. Unsigned, attributed to Watling by G.P. Whitley, Ichthyologist, Australian Museum. Date from note on old mount at lower right `Norfolk Island painter no [sic] known 1793/4'

    19. Entrance to Port Stephens. Watercolour. Signed `P. G. King' at lower left, undated, titled at lower right on old mount. On reverse of old mount is a print titled `A visit to Greenwich Hospital the painted hall. C. H. Michael del.'
    20. Liverpool Plains Warrah [?] Station, Oct 9th/47. Grey wash. Panorama in two sections. Unsigned, dated & titled at lower right in pencil. `Liverpool Plains' in ink beside title.

    21(b). Stroud, Feb. 2nd. 1840. Pencil and blue wash. Unsigned, dated and titled at lower left.
    21(c). Clovelly. Blue wash. Signed `JMc' at lower left below title, undated.
    21(d). Concepcion after the Earthquake on Feb 4/53. From a sketch by Mr. Chaffers. Pencil. Dated & titled on reverse in pencil. On old mount `Ruins of Cathedral. Chile after earthquake at 10'.
    22a. Tahlee, Feb. 8th. 1840, Port Stephens. Ink. Unsigned, dated and titled in ink at lower right.

    26. Where C.& P. Leslie lived when first married Dunhevid Creek rented fr. Admiral King. Pencil. Undated. Signed `P. King' in ink on back. Titled in ink along upper edge. Similar title in ink, and further notes about the house and grounds, and key to sketch, are written on the reverse.
    27. Miss O'Neil in the character of [...?] now Lady Buckley. Pencil and watercolour. Unsigned, `By Capt Fyans' is written at lower left. Titled at lower right.
    28. [The Gap, South Head], 1853. Engraving, some areas coloured with watercolour. Engraved signature and date `Terry del 1853' at lower left. `Sands & Kenny, Sydney & Melbourne' engraved at lower right. On reverse in ink `Covelly [sic] Cottage South Head Sydney, New South Wales looking up to Sydney where P. & K. Leslie went after their marriage 9th Sept. 1840', and in pencil `P. G. King & Elizabeth King afterward spent their Honey Moon'.

    This collection has been compiled from various acquisitions. The provenance details of many items have been lost.
    The portfolio was compiled in July 1962 from miscellaneous sketches formerly kept in drawers in manuscript room.
