    Sir Henry Parkes (1815-1896), politician and journalist, was born on 27 May 1896 in Warwickshire, England. In addition to being a N.S.W. Colonial Prime Minister he served several terms as Colonial Secretary and Registrar of Records -- Australian Dictionary of Biography, Vol. 5, Melbourne University Press.

    Collection of illuminated addresses and presentation certificates from town officials, local societies and schools as well as news clippings relating to Sir Henry Parkes visit to the Central New South Wales towns of Armidale, Bunbury, Forbes, Molong, Orange, Parkes, Young.
