In its entry for Nikolai Miklukho-Maklai, the Australian dictionary of biography, volume five, records that Miklukho-Maklai was usually known as Nicholas Maclay. In 1886 he drew up an agreement with G.B. Cerruti to plant fruit trees on the island of Seremban in the Malay Straits. In 1884 he married Margaret Emma Clark
