This volume is compiled from microfilm CY118 (original manuscript at MLMSS A1806). Much of it is illegible. - Scope and Content1832-1856; Eyre gives a short family history before describing his voyage from England beginning October 1832 to his arrival in Hobart early March 1833 and Sydney 27 March. He learnt about sheep faming in the Hunter River district before journeying to a new estate at Molongo Plains (near present day Canberra) with a partner. Hec left this estate when his contract had run its course and set up another station near Port Phillip in August 1837. After returning to Sydney briefly, he drove cattle to South Australia, where he remained until he was appointed Lieutenant Governor of New Zealand in 1846. He returned to Australia in 1856 (Call No.: MLMSS 7674/1X)
