Textual Records - (manuscript) - ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
Robert Cooper Jnr, James Cooper and Francis Cooper were the eldest sons of distiller Robert Cooper. They arrived in Sydney in 1818 to join their father who had been transported in 1813. About 1831 James and Francis Cooper went to manage 'Willeroo', a property on the eastern margin of Lake George, near Goulburn. The property was originally given in 1824 to Robert Cooper Snr, and formally granted to James and Francis Cooper in 1835. - Scope and ContentThe diary includes daily entries of accounts, memoranda of stock and copies of letters sent. In particular, the book documents disagreements with neighbour Francis Kenny about the ownership of stock. The book is written in several hands. Most entries are by James Cooper, with further entries and signatures by Francis Cooper, Robert Cowley Cooper (eldest surviving son of Francis Cooper), Louise Blanche Cooper, and possibly Robert Cooper Jnr.
