- Scope and ContentAn English translation of 'Beitrage zur Geologie von Australien'. Leichhardt's original manuscript of the work is included in his notebook located at C 154. The writing in C 160 is not that of Leichhardt or the Rev. W.B. Clarke. The translation seems to be from the German text published after Leichhardt's death in Nat. Ges. zu Halle, Abh.3, a reprint of which is held in the Mitchell Library at Q 559.01/L. The writing may be that of George H.F. Ulrich whose translation was published in the Australian Almanac in 1867 and 1868. However, Ulrich's translation was stated to be from a copy of a German publication of 1847 which was destroyed by fire. Minor corrections to this translation may be by W.B. Clarke.
