  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Born in 1949 in Wagga Wagga of Greek ancestry, Alexander Francis (Lex) Marinos has worked extensively in radio broadcasting, in live theatre, film and television as an actor, writer and director. He has had long-term interest and involvement in sport, particularly football and soccer, as well as being active in a range of multicultural festivals and events, government arts and multiculturalism advisory bodies, the Republican movement, the Sydney Olympics and Australia Day promotions. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1994 for service to the performing arts and the Centenary Medal in 2001 for service to the Centenary of Federation celebrations.
