  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Sir Eugene Goossens (1893-1962) was director of the N.S.W. State Conservatorium of Music and resident conductor of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra from 1947 to 1956. He was also involved in the early planning of the Sydney Opera House and was knighted for his services to music in Australia in 1955
  • Scope and Content
    1. Studio and workshop. Suggested ground plan for workshop, 39 ft. by 18 ft. (or proportionately slightly smaller if necessary)
    2. Concrete brick, plain concrete, Tudor-Gothic variation (stucco - my preference), Norman variation
    3. Suggested elevations of Director's studio-workshop building in Director's garden. Conservatorium. Sacles 4 ft to 1 inch & 8ft. to 1 inch. North west frontage facing Govt. House, south west frontage facing wall of new studios, north east frontage facing garden, garden, south east frontage facing conservatorium
