  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Cecily Osborne was the granddaughter of Wesleyan minister and journalist, Reverend John Osborne (1842-1908). He was minister at Adenong in 1873, Yass in 1874-76, Newtown in 1877-79 and Newcastle in 1880-82, and won repute as a topical preacher. In 1883 he was appointed to the important York Street church. In 1884 he resigned from the Wesleyan ministry and the Methodist Church and joined the Daily Telegraph.
