    Objects - 1 crescent-shaped brass breastplate, engraved, with hole at each apex - 12.5 x 14.5 cm. - Decorated with engraving of a kangaroo and emu. Scrollwork is engraved surrounding the words "James Piper". Plate is slightly convex. Reverse surface rough and showing areas of verdigris.

    Undated, however breastplates were conferred from 1816 until as late as 1930
    Inscription divided by a decorative scroll
    The inscription and the engravings are similar to those on the breastplate of John, Chief of Burrooa (R 250d)
