Captain Thomas Watson (1795-1879) was master of the schooner Essington, Harbour Master of Port Jackson and member of the Pilot Board NSW. - Scope and ContentAlbum compiled by Geoffry Ingleton containing newscuttings, photocopies of letters, photographs and an original letter from Watson. Subjects include the statue of Captain Cook in Hyde Park, Watson's rescue of Joseph Forbes from Timor Laut, the fate of Cook's ship the Endeavour, the defences of Sydney Harbour, and the clipper Sea Witch.
