Steven Herrick (1958-) is an Australian poet who writes poems and verse novels for children. Herrick has performed at schools throughout Australia, as well as at pubs, universities, festivals, and on radio and television.

Herrick's publications include Love, Ghosts and Nose Hair; The Place Where the Planes Take Off; My Life, My Love, My Lasagna; A Place Like This; The Spangled Drongo: a Verse Novel; and Do-Wrong Ron. He has won and been shortlisted for a number of awards, including the Australian Children's Book Council of the Year Award, the New South Wales Premier's Literary Award, Victorian Premier's Literary Award, and the Koala Book of the Year.

He lives with his partner Cathie Gorman, and their two children, Jack and Joe.
